Privacy Policy for the Website

Last Updated: March 6, 2026

Welcome to the Video Quality Enhancer website (https://videoqualityenhancer.app). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website, purchase a subscription, or interact with our services.

Video Quality Enhancer is operated by Jovan Ralić (operating under the pseudonym John Weber), based in Serbia. By using this website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We believe in data minimization and only collect the information absolutely necessary to provide and manage your subscription.

a. Account Information
When you purchase a subscription to unlock the Video Quality Enhancer extension, you are required to create an account on our website. During this process, we collect:

  • An email address.
  • A username (this does not need to be your real name).
  • A password (which is securely hashed and encrypted; we never have access to your plain-text password).

b. Extension & License Data
To verify your subscription status, our website communicates securely with the browser extension. We do not use traditional license keys. Instead, the extension generates a unique, custom User ID which is shared with and stored on our website.

  • The extension makes periodic API calls to our website using this User ID to check if your subscription is active.
  • A single subscription is valid for one extension on one device at a time. Our website logs this User ID to enforce this limit. If you uninstall and reinstall the extension, you can log into your website dashboard to link your new extension's User ID to your account.

c. Payment Information
We use PayPal as our sole payment processor. When you purchase a subscription, you provide your billing details directly to PayPal. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank details, or your real First/Last name on our servers. PayPal only notifies our website whether a payment was successful so we can activate your account. We recommend reviewing PayPal’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.

d. Communication Data
If you reach out to us for support using our Contact Form, we will collect your email address and any information you voluntarily provide in your message so that we can assist you.

2. Managing Your Account and Subscription

We believe you should have complete control over your subscription and the data tied to it. By logging into your account dashboard on our website, you can securely and easily manage your details at any time:

  • Modify Your Plan: You can seamlessly change, upgrade (e.g., to a Yearly plan), or downgrade (e.g., to a Monthly plan) your active subscription.
  • Cancel Your Subscription: You can cancel your auto-renewal at any time with a single click. If you cancel, your account and extension will remain active until the end of your current paid billing cycle.
  • Manage Your Profile: You can update your email address, username, and view your payment history.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • To create, maintain, and manage your subscription account.
  • To verify your active subscription status via the extension's API calls.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, payment receipts, and account notifications).
  • To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
  • Future Marketing: In the future, we may offer an optional email newsletter. We will only send you marketing emails if you explicitly opt in, and you will always have the option to unsubscribe at any time.

4. Analytics and Tracking

We deeply respect your privacy and do not use invasive third-party tracking tools like Google Analytics.

To understand our website traffic, we use Koko Analytics, a privacy-friendly WordPress plugin. Koko Analytics does not collect personal information, does not use tracking cookies, and does not share data with any external third parties. All analytics data is stored locally on our own server.

5. Cookies

We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies. We only use essential cookies required for the website to function properly. These include cookies used by WordPress and our subscription software to keep you securely logged into your account and to process your checkout session.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We only share data with trusted third-party service providers strictly to operate our business:

  • PayPal: To process subscription payments.
  • Web Hosting: Our website and data are hosted on secure servers.

We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

7. International Data Transfers

Because we are based in Serbia and utilize global hosting and payment providers, your data may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. By creating an account and using our services, you consent to this transfer.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information and subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we may retain your data for a limited time to allow you to easily reactivate your account in the future, or as necessary to comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

9. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location (such as under the GDPR), you have certain rights regarding your personal data. You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Update or correct your account details via your user dashboard.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using our contact form.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

11. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We use standard security protocols, including SSL encryption, to protect data transmitted between your browser and our website. Passwords are securely hashed. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please reach out to us via our contact form.
