When you purchase a subscription to unlock the Video Quality Enhancer extension, you are required to create an account on our website. During this process, we collect:

  • A username (this does not need to be your real name).
  • A password (which is securely hashed and encrypted; we never have access to your plain-text password).

b. Extension & License Data
To verify your subscription status, our website communicates securely with the browser extension. We do not use traditional license keys. Instead, the extension generates a unique, custom User ID which is shared with and stored on our website.

  • The extension makes periodic API calls to our website using this User ID to check if your subscription is active.
  • A single subscription is valid for one extension on one device at a time. Our website logs this User ID to enforce this limit. If you uninstall and reinstall the extension, you can log into your website dashboard to link your new extension's User ID to your account.

c. Payment Information
We use PayPal as our sole payment processor. When you purchase a subscription, you provide your billing details directly to PayPal. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank details, or your real First/Last name on our servers. PayPal only notifies our website whether a payment was successful so we can activate your account. We recommend reviewing PayPal’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.

d. Communication Data
If you reach out to us for support using our Contact Form, we will collect your email address and any information you voluntarily provide in your message so that we can assist you.

2. Managing Your Account and Subscription

We believe you should have complete control over your subscription and the data tied to it. By logging into your account dashboard on our website, you can securely and easily manage your details at any time:

  • Modify Your Plan: You can seamlessly change, upgrade (e.g., to a Yearly plan), or downgrade (e.g., to a Monthly plan) your active subscription.
  • Cancel Your Subscription: You can cancel your auto-renewal at any time with a single click. If you cancel, your account and extension will remain active until the end of your current paid billing cycle.
